Release Date: July 8, 2022
Introduction to Double Masters 2022
This set mirrors the original Double Masters release from 2020 in
several key aspects. Each Draft Booster pack includes a pair of rare or
mythic rare cards along with two foil cards. Many of the reprinted cards
showcase brand-new artwork. The card pool for Double Masters 2022
consists of 332 cards, categorized into 91 commons, 80 uncommons, 120
rares, 40 mythic rares, and one special card. Notably, almost all the
cards come with premium versions, with just one exception. Additionally,
each booster contains a unique L-Rarity card, Cryptic Spires (#332),
which is exclusive to this set and doesn’t appear in foil. Borderless
cards are numbered from #333 to #412, and there’s a foil-etched version
for every rare and mythic rare in the set, spanning from #413 to #572.
Some cards also feature a ‘textured foil’ treatment, and these can be
found in Collector Boosters (#573-577). There are two release cards,
numbered #578 and #579.
Notable Features and Themes
Double Masters 2022 is available in three types of boosters: 17-card
Draft Boosters (including one marketing card), Draft Packs, and
Collector Boosters. In each Draft Booster, you’ll discover a mix of 2 to
4 cards of rare or higher rarity, 3 to 5 uncommons, 8 to 10 commons, and
one Cryptic Spires card. Two cards of any rarity come with the
traditional foil treatment. On the other hand, Collector Boosters
consist of 15 cards and 1 traditional foil double-sided token. They
offer a combination of 4 cards of rare or higher rarity, 2 to 6
uncommons, and 5 to 9 common cards. Importantly, every Collector Booster
guarantees 10 to 11 traditional foil cards and one rare or mythic rare
foil-etched card. For those who prefer digital play, Double Masters 2022
is also available on Magic Online.
